Okay I know it's one day too late but I have been on a vacation so I couldn't write it earlier. Well I hope she had a great birthday and that she got a lot of things that she wished for. I read that she wanted this 30th birthday to be a milestone where she only is looking forward, not back on the past. She actually said: "I've had so many conversations about my milestones in the past that I'm actually sick of hearing myself talk about it, So if there's one thing I want turning 30 to be about it's looking forward." I can't wait to see what's next for Kate! |
Don't miss Merrick, Rosso and Kate's "the Panphins first social night". They are planing to kick it off 6pm on friday on the Mean Fiddler Rouse Hil. It's completely free so if you live near the station, don't forget to go there! Oh and by the way, Kate is the social director of the club!
Panphins is a made up team that was created after a listener told the team a story about a dolphin tattoo that became a panther tattoo.
The first game is against The Panphins and Toad.
Oh and don't forget to learn the team song!
Go the Panphins
They're awesome and that
Go the Panphins
We're half mammal, half cat
We're the winners every bloody time
We'll eat your fear for breakfast and we're hungry all the time
Go the Panphins
We've got brawn, we've got brain
Go the Panphins
We win in every way
We'll destroy you, on land or out at sea
We'll chew you up and spit you out and go down in history.
Kate will be on Australian Story next monday August 4 2008 8pm. Whatever you do, DON'T MISS IT!
She is also featured in this week's TV Week so run and buy it if you live in Australia. She tells us about her life after Home and Away and all the rumours that circles around her.
Man I whish I lived in Australia. TV Week is really expensive for us in Sweden if we are going to order it from there. So anyone who reads this Kate article, please tell us about it. It would be fun to see what it says.
EDIT: Written by Khalia
Thank you so much!!
The tv week article asks Kate about the rumours around Nova are true and she says its not so is just "water off a ducks back' and that the fued between merrick, rosso and herself is rubbish. Also that she is not worrying about the gossip to much and that she is happy doing radio.
There is also a question about her on the recent cover of New Idea about her wanting her old life back and that sometimes she looks at the stories and doesn't even see herself. That if she hangs on to what she knows is tru then it doesn't matter what everyone else says. Also that her old life was amazing and she wouldn't try to recreate it as it wouldn't be the same.
Also there are a few questions about Young Doctors and at this stage she doesn;t have her eye on anymore acting jobs as has work cut out for her at nova. She says Australian Story is a chance to record something that is nice for the viewers and herself.
SHE may be in the hot seat, squeezed between the duelling egos of Merrick and Rosso on Nova's breakfast show, but Kate Ritchie is blooming on the pages of the August edition of Madison.
Interestingly, the shoot was completed way before the rumours that the actress was finding it challenging fronting up to work with the good buddies Tim Ross and Merrick Watts, who have recently admitted they may not continue with the show once their contracts are up.
Looking mega-glam, Ritchie and the boys were treated to a sumptuous spread in the style and fashion magazine.
Meanwhile, Ritchie is resolutely upbeat about the change in her fortunes since she left her long-running role in the soapie Home And Away.
"This is going to be an amazing time in my life,'' she said hopefully. ``And I need to keep reminding myself of that.''

BREAKFAST radio team Merrick, Rosso and Kate Ritchie have admitted their partnership delivered creative friction but refused to indulge industry rumours they were at loggerheads.
Merrick Watts labelled as untrue persistent industry speculation that he and comedic partner Tim Ross were upset about Ritchie's addition to their morning team.
"No matter who you put in that chair it's going to be bumpy - not in the sense of having blow-ups or personality clashes. It was just about getting the cogs to mesh properly,'' Watts said.
Ritchie quit Home And Away in December after 20 years on the popular soap to begin her new radio job.
Ritchie has a year-long contract with the Nova 969 radio station and is currently considering an extension.
She has, however, said she would like to do more acting and last week was rumoured to be a front runner for Nine's remake of The Young Doctors.
"The gig for the first six months has been, kind of, certainly not clouded but like it didn't feel like I was doing the one job,'' Ritchie said.
"I left Home And Away in December but there was this waiting for the final scenes to go to air, saying goodbye, talking about that stuff, and then the Logies.
"It felt like I probably wasn't as focused as I should be.''
While Ritchie has made gains in her radio career, the same cannot be said of her former soap, Home And Away.
Where the series once dominated its 7pm timeslot, averaging 1.6 million viewers nationally last April, it's performance has slipped since the departure of Ritchie's character, Sally Fletcher.
Ritchie laughed off suggestions her leaving had caused the decline.
"No one person or no one character is bigger than the show itself,''she said.
