Biography
Kate's early life
Kate Ritchie was born August 14, 1978 in a city called Goulburn, located in New South Wales, Australia. Her biggest dream was to be an actress and to be shown on TV. 1987 she saw a Home and Away advertisement and immediately decided to audition. She actually had to play against Milco, the boy who where going to be her imaginary friend during the first years of the series. Kate did her best and the producers decided to have her on the show. They saw something natural and amazing in her, and they where right.
Kate felt very excited working on Home and Away and she loved going to work even though she was so young. The cast of Home and Away quickly became her second family and she gained friends for life. During filming Home and Away and playing Sally Fletcher she also completed her HSC in 1997. She read through a program called "pathways" which allow you to study in a longer time during working for example. Kate was very proud of herself when she completed the exam and got good grades.

The year was 2006
Kate got an offer to be in "It takes two" and at first she didn't want to accept the offer. She was afraid and not enough comfortable with herself to be on stage singing. After a while she agreed and we could see her singing on our screens in 2006. She later became a host of the second season along with Grant Denyer.
She also got nominated for both the Silver Logie for most popular actress and the Gold Logie for most popular personality on Australian television. She won the Silver Logie which became her first but she lost the Gold Logie. This win was huge for Kate and she was very overwhelmed. She didn't think that she was going to win anything at all.

The year was 2007
2007 Kate revealed that she was going to leave Home and Away and her lifetime partner Sally Fletcher. It was a hard decision for Kate, who has played her fellow character for 20 years. She had grown up on television and it was time for her to enter the second part of her life.
She was nominated for both the Silver Logie for most popular actress and the Gold Logie for most popular personality on Australian television. She did win both and this win was very overwhelming for Kate and she wasn't expecting that. This made Kate even more famous and she was now one of the biggest stars in Australia.

The year was 2008
Kate decided to do something new with her life so she joined Nova969 breakfast radio with Merrick and Rosso and she really loves it. She says that it's something completely different from Sally and Home and Away and she like the challenge to develop.
This year she was nominated to the same as 2007 and this year she won both too. She's now very famous in Australia and she's now called the Golden Girl.
